See what others have to say about Let's Mind Map! . . .

"I think Jane's seminar on Mind Maps is one of the most useful and informative and interesting seminars on learning I have ever completed. When you are learning new things people say 'break it down'...a mind map breaks it down but also sorts it into the way your own mind perceives what you are learning...so very useful and confidence building too. Thank you. "

"Dr Jane Genovese practises what she writes in her articles - fun sessions and vivid examples to help us understand the concepts she is delivering. I left the session feeling creative, excited and motivated about mind mapping (again) and the myriad possibilities arising from active recall and teeny-tiny habits for remembering stuff and general life. I felt better about life already. "

- Participant in Let's Mind Map!

"What a wonderful and energetic session with many tips on how to (re)start your mindmapping! I am excited to get to it again and bring more structure and creativity to my planning! "

- Participant in Let's Mind Map!

"Jane explained how our brains respond to visual cues more easily than written text. I was amazed at how intuitive this is once it is pointed out. Jane lays out the the simple method which uses our natural ways of learning."

"Very valuable session - I now feel far more confident about suggesting this skill to my students and taking them through the process to help them use this tool effectively! Thank you Jane!"

Why I finally created this program after 20 years of mind mapping

A note from Dr Jane Genovese

Mind mapping has allowed me to do things I never thought possible. After 20 years of mind mapping, I decided it was time to share my mind mapping approach and practice with others. Mind mapping has helped me a lot. I thought, "Maybe it could help others?".

I discovered mind mapping during a difficult time in my life. I had just started my first year of law school and had failed my first test.

I knew I had no idea how to learn.

My stress levels were out of control.

My confidence had taken a massive hit.

Nothing made sense.

I was about to quit university and start looking for a job, but something unexpected happened: I attended a Law lecture that changed everything.

This lecture wasn’t your usual dry, boring stuff. The Law professor told us how he mind-mapped each of his lectures and how mind mapping was an excellent learning strategy. Using an old overhead projector, he threw examples up on the screen of his creative mind maps.

While other students looked sceptical, I was excited.

I thought, “What have I got to lose? Let’s give it a shot”.

To my surprise, mind mapping worked.

It helped me to:

  • slow down my overactive brain
  • decrease anxiety and fear
  • focus better
  • understand the complex legal concepts
  • see the connections between different ideas

To my delight, mind maps made studying law fun!

To cut a long story short, mind mapping helped me get through that rough first semester of law school.

I completed my university degrees (in law and psychology) and I was invited to do a PhD (which I completed in 2017). I’m sure none of this would have been possible without the mind mapping process.

Since then, I have continued to mind map every day and have created hundreds of mind maps on various topics (e.g., nonfiction books I’ve read, planning my goals, and working through problems). It has become a daily practice.

I want you to know this . . .

If you’re struggling with a subject, finding it hard to focus, or have a problem that’s currently weighing you down, I encourage you to give mind mapping a shot.
